Our top exclusive-use luxury properties in Scotland

29th November 2018

Here’s some of the most stunning exclusive-use properties in Scotland. Including a stylish newly refurbished mansion in Perthshire and an atmospheric historic castle.

Spoons on Skye, Skye

The Spoons on Skye is a lovely one bedroom, two floor exclusive-use property with lavish furnishings, Liberty fabrics and a wood burning stove. It’s part of the main house but is self-contained with a separate entrance and its own garden area. It’s situated on an 8 acre working croft and is our home away from home when on Skye.

Dun Aluinn, Perthshire

Dun Aluinn is an exclusive-use exquisitely refurbished large holiday home situated in beautiful Aberfeldy Perthshire. The house sleeps up to 18 guests in 9 bedrooms, each with a private en-suite bathroom. The kitchen has been especially designed to cater for large groups. We recently stayed here and can testify that there has been no expense spared on the refurbishment. The modern décor reflects the buildings’ history with the original woodwork and fireplaces all intact. The added bonus is the use of a butler and the incredibly talented Ballintaggart team are on hand to do the catering.

Borthwick Castle, Midlothian

Is there a more imposing or historic castle for exclusive-use in Scotland?! This place still looks impregnable. A castle brimming with history old and new; It’s the last place Mary Queen of Scots felt happy and secure, it was attacked by Oliver Cromwell (you can still see the damage) and it has featured in the Netflix extravaganza ‘Outlaw King’. If this isn’t enough to peak your interest the castle chef has also been crowned winner of the critically acclaimed BBC’s  ‘Masterchef: The Professionals’ not to mention a multitude of other awards. The castle has 10 bedrooms plus two other cottages including the newly refurbished Gatehouse.
